Lunar New Year dance performance
North Riverside Park Mall, 7501 Cermak Road, welcomes the Year of the Rabbit with a special Lunar New Year live performance by the Yin He Dance Company of Chicago on Jan. 28 from 11 a.m. to noon in the lower-level center court.

Radio Players recreate classic shows
The Riverside Township Radio Players will recreate two more shows from the Golden Age of Radio on Jan. 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Riverside Township Hall, 27 Riverside Road in Riverside.
This month, the troupe performs “The Adventure of the Singing Rat” from the detective series “The Adventures of Ellery Queen” and the comedy offering “Lion Hunting” from “The Abbott and Costello Show.”

Chicago Portage lecture series returns
After a two-year hiatus, the Friends of the Chicago Portage are back with their 2023 Lecture Series, which kicks off Jan. 28 at 1 p.m. at the Lyons Public Library, 4209 Joliet Ave.
John Langer and Gary Mechanic present “Jolliet and Marquette’s Discovery of Chicago,” detailing the explorers’ lives and travels while celebrating the 350th anniversary of their epic journey of discovery.

The creativity of Walt Disney
Linda Sokol Francis Brookfield Library, 3541 Park Ave., invites you to enjoy a portrait of the famed film and animation innovator Walt Disney during “Walt Disney: Creativity Frame by Frame” on Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. in Meeting Room 1.
