A note of appreciation to the members of the community who have donated canned goods and other perishable food items in response to the article in the Landmark about the Little Food Pantry at Riverside Presbyterian Church (“RPC’s food pantry plays vital role in feeding the community,” News, May 17).
The people we serve have also benefitted from a large donation of ground beef, free pizza from the farmers market and a new initiative to offer personal care items. Riverside Juniors purchased $500 worth of canned goods which will last about 10 days. And last, but not least, a Boy Scout is working on an Eagle project to benefit the pantry.
The community really came through for the people who are food insecure. On behalf of those folks, a very big thank you! If this piques your interest, donations may be left in the box outside the office door at 116 Barrypoint Road or contact the church office at 708-447-1520 for a timed delivery.
