Climate and extreme weather
What's the connection between global warming and extreme weather? Brookfield resident and Citizens' Climate Lobby research coordinator Rick Knight will discuss that question during a special Zoom session titled "Economic Factors Related to Climate Change and Extreme Weather Events" on Monday, June 22 at 7 p.m.
The event is part of the Brookfield Reads! community reading initiative. To register for the event and obtain access information visit the Brookfield Public Library's website.
New window installation at RAC
Riverside Arts Center, 32 E. Quincy St., has unveiled its second exhibition in conjunction with Art-In-Place, an initiative of CNL Projects and Terrain Exhibitions.
The new art exhibit, which will be on display through June 26 is "Solace Supercut" by Stacia Yeapanis. It updates her 2012 collage of TV show clips "Solace Supercut," evoking twinned experiences of isolation and empathy.
During the run of the window installation, Yeapanis will also remote-screen "Stay Where You Are!" a brand new remix video about the wide range of emotional responses to quarantine.
The exhibition is designed to be viewable from the street at all hours. An artist talk with Yeapanis is scheduled for June 20. Visit the Riverside Arts Center website for more information.
