The Brookfield Village Board of Trustees and the Brookfield Planning and Zoning Commission will host a joint special meeting on economic development on Wednesday, June 29 at 5 p.m. The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held in the council chamber at Brookfield Village Hall, 8820 Brookfield Ave.

Staff from the village's Community and Economic Development Department will brief the village board and planning commissioners on economic development efforts and challenges during the past year and discuss economic trends affecting new development in west Cook County.

In addition, two of the village's consulting firms will provide updates as well. Kane, McKenna and Associates, which serves as a financial advisor to the village, will provide an update on the creation of the Eight Corners Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District.

And representatives from Troutman and Dams, the real estate brokerage firm hired by the village last year to work on redevelopment efforts in the Ogden Avenue and Congress Park TIF districts, is expected to unveil information about a potential residential development project near the Congress Park train station.
