Brookfield financial advisor named to prestigious group

Linda Sokol Francis, president of Brookfield Financial Plans Inc. and financial advisor with Waddell and Reed Financial Inc. has been accepted for the second consecutive year as a member of the Million Dollar Round Table, an international organization for top financial advisors.

"I feel honored to have qualified and be invited to join this exclusive organization," Francis said in a press release. "As a Rotarian and world traveler, I am always excited to obtain the views of the rest of the world both culturally and financially."

 

On campus

Dana Dombrowski, of Brookfield, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in German from Knox College in Galesburg in June.

Riverside resident Cameron Bolton graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, at the end of the 2020 spring semester. He was also named to the 2020 spring semester dean's list by earning a semester GPA of at least 3.5.

North Riverside resident Isabelle Echevarria (B.S., English creative writing) and Brookfield resident Kennadi Taylor (B.S., nursing) were among the more than 900 students graduating from Bradley University in Peoria in May.

Among those receiving degrees from the University of Iowa at the end of the 2020 spring semester were Brookfield residents Alex Contreras (Bachelor of Business Administration in finance), Alyse Malikowski (Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing), Julia Melone (Bachelor of Arts in speech and hearing science) and McKenna Powers (Bachelor of Arts in history) and Riverside residents Brendan McDonough (Bachelor of Arts in political science) and Ryan Zia (Bachelor of Arts in communication studies).

Brookfield resident Daniel Sagel graduated with a Master of Arts in educational leadership from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley at the end of the 2020 spring semester.

Brookfield resident Anthony Landahl was named Outstanding Student in Television Arts by the Department of Communication of Bradley University's Slane College of Communications and Fine Arts. He was one of 60 students of the college to be recognized for superior achievement.

Alyssa Schwarz, of Riverside, and Autumn Rajcevich-Schwer and Kiera Notz, both of Brookfield, were among those named to the 2020 spring semester dean's list at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. They attained a semester grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4-point scale.

Brookfield residents Mariah Dorsey (early childhood education), Kaitlin Lizik (communications) and Carly Melody (social work) were named to the 2020 spring semester dean's list with high honors at Aurora University for earning a semester GPA of 4.0.

Several local students were named to the dean's list (3.5 GPA) and president's list (4.0 GPA) for the 2020 spring semester at the University of Alabama. Those named to the dean's list included Brookfield residents Amber Bittourna, Brittany Paeth, Kyle Paeth and Zachary Veselsky and Riverside resident Caden Vais. Named to the president's list was Brookfield resident Lydia Olson.

Brookfield residents Katya Garcia and Jessica Taylor and Riverside resident Charlie Marcou were named to the 2020 winter semester dean's list at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan.

Gloria Corona, of Brookfield, was named to the spring 2020 dean's list at the University of Findlay (Ohio) for attaining a GPA of at least 3.5. She was also named to the Nu Beta chapter of the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business.

Jeremiah Clarkson, of Brookfield, was named to the Wheaton College dean's list for the 2020 spring semester for achieving a GPA of at least 3.5.

Jeremy Heer, of Brookfield, was named to the 2020 spring semester dean's list at Quincy (Illinois) University for earning a semester GPA of at least 3.5.

Riverside resident Coulter Greenwell, a financial management major, was named to the president's list for the 2020 spring semester at Clemson (South Carolina) University for achieving perfect semester GPA of 4.0.

Emily Pitts, of Riverside, a professional writing and information design major, was named to the 2020 spring dean's honor list at Cedarville (Ohio) University for maintaining a GPA of at least 3.75. Michael Pitts, meanwhile, was named to the dean's list for maintaining a GPA of at least 3.5.

Alyssa Brown, of Riverside, was one of 714 students named to the 2020 spring semester dean's list at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. Students named to the dean's list have maintained a GPA of at least 3.7 for the semester.

Brookfield residents Elizabeth Strzelczyk (software engineering) and Abigail Zabrodsky (forestry) and Riverside residents Ryan Kodama (industrial design) and Isabelle Legan (global resource systems) were named to the 2020 spring semester dean's list at Iowa State University in Ames for earning a semester GPA of at least 3.5.

Among those named to the 2020 spring semester dean's list at Lewis University in Romeoville for attaining a GPA of at least 3.5 were Riverside residents Nida Aleksa and Danny Zontos, North Riverside resident Jennifer Schoenheider and Brookfield residents Diana Lekkas, Justin Lohmeier, Jane McLaren, Gylmar Ponce and Casey Vileta.

Fiona Hamilton, a chemistry major from Brookfield, was named to the 2020 spring semester dean's list at University of Wisconsin-River Falls for earning a semester GPA of least 3.5.

St. Laurence High School in Burbank announced that Brookfield resident Julian Gonzalez was named to the A Honor Roll for th4e second semester of the 2019-20 school year. Named to the B Honor Roll were Riverside residents Cade Friend and Calvin Friend and Brookfield resident Charlie Burnell.
