The local progressive activist group Indivisible Brookfield was announced as the winner of the inaugural Indivisible Indi-Award for Bold Endorsements on Aug. 11 at the First Annual Gathering of Indivisible's National Campaigns Network (NCN), IndivisiNation Rising.

The Indi-Award recognized Indivisible Brookfield's success in making the first nationwide Indivisible endorsement of a Democratic candidate running against a seated Democrat during the gathering at the Renaissance Capital View Hotel in Arlington, Virginia.

Specifically, Indivisible Brookfield was recognized for their 2018 endorsement of Marie Newman for Congress in the 3rd Congressional District of Illinois. Newman's opponent in 2018 was seven-term incumbent Daniel Lipinski.

The local Indivisible groups of La Grange/La Grange Park and Western Springs were also recognized for this endorsement.
