St. Louise de Marillac School students and faculty gathered for a prayer service in honor of Patriot Day on Sept. 11. All students in preschool through eighth grade created a special flag banner for area first responders. Each flag's red "stripes" were made up of paper cutouts of praying students. Student Council President Katie Keegan and Vice President Mary Hopkins presented the special recognition signs to the Brookfield and LaGrange Park police and fire departments that day. Here they are presenting a flag to members of the Brookfield Fire Department.
