Know when you see fake news

North Riverside Public Library invites you to understand the psychology behind why we fall for fake news – and how to avoid it – during "What Bigfoot Can Teach Us about Fake News," a special presentation on Facebook Live and YouTube on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.

The fact that hundreds of Americans see Bigfoot every year gives us a glimpse into the nature of belief. In this talk, Dr. Troy Swanson will use Bigfoot as an entry point to the larger discussion about how our brains interpret information and what this tells us about how we understand fake news.

Visit the library's Facebook page or YouTube page.

Mall hosts blood drive

North Riverside Park Mall, 7501 Cermak Road, will host a blood drive on Saturday, Oct.3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the upper level center court.
