Geraldine E. “Chips” VanCura (nee Kueck), 93 of Westmont and formerly of Berwyn, died on Dec. 25, 2017.
She was born on Jan. 23, 1924. Ms. VanCura was a longtime Girl Scout leader for Lone Tree Area Council, and was a charter and active member of Adult Troop 007. She was also a teacher and enjoyed dancing with the Dudes ‘n’ Dolls Square Dance Club.
Ms. VanCura was the wife of the late James J. VanCura Jr.; the mother of Charlene (Bill) Arch, Roberta (Don) Wostratzky and Janet (Ed) Skalecki; the grandmother of Nicholas and David (Donna) Woznicki, Darcie (John) Speicher, Craig Wostratzky and Carolyn (Christopher) Walters; the great-grandmother of William Franklin, Robert and Katelyn Woznicki, Rachel and Joshua Speicher and Tarryn Walters; and the sister of the late Lauretta (the late Joseph) Jordan.
Services have been held. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
