Elizabeth "Betty" Rosenberg (nee Bluder), 90, of Brookfield, died Jan. 4, 2013 at LaGrange Memorial Hospital.

Born on Jan. 19, 1922, Ms. Rosenberg was a resident of Brookfield almost her entire life, spending the majority of it two blocks away from where she grew up. She graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1940 and married Raymond O. Rosenberg in 1947.

Before having children, Ms. Rosenberg worked at Electro-Motive in McCook. She sang in her church choir for 60 years and spent countless summers tending to her vegetable garden and enjoying solving crossword puzzles. She was able to travel later in life, but never flew in an airplane or drove a car.

Ms. Rosenberg was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her brother Ken Bluder; and her sisters, Joan Galla, Darlene Stoppenbach, Marion Erickson and Bernice Darby.

She is survived by her children, Donna (Hank) Bongers, Wayne (Terri) Rosenberg and John (Lin) Rosenberg; her grandchildren, Sean Tormey, Emily Rosenberg, Evan Rosenberg and Aaron Rosenberg; her great-grandchildren, Kyle Miller-Tormey, Nicole Tormey and Gage Grant; her sisters, Dorothy (Ed) Rickert, Grace Shipp and Carolyn "Dolly" Krabec; her brother, Raymond (Betty) Bluder; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Jan. 7 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Brookfield, followed by interment at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Stickney.

Memorial donations are appreciated to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 9035 Grant Ave., Brookfield, Ill. 60513.

Hitzeman Funeral Home, Brookfield, handled arrangements.
