James F. Bachman, 90, of Lombard and formerly of Arlington Heights and Riverside, died on Sept 29, 2017. 

Born on Aug. 10, 1927 in Chicago, he was a retired salesman at the Air-Maze Corporation. Mr. Bachman served in the U.S. Navy during WW II, and he loved reading non-fiction and listening to classical music.

His favorite words of wisdom were, "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a battle."  

Mr. Bachman was the husband of Patricia (nee Florian); the father of Rosanne Bachman, James J. (Kathleen, nee Graham) and John (Anna, nee Litch); the grandfather of Samuel J., Joanna E. and Sophia L.; the brother of Mary Lou, the late Elwood and the late Curtis Bachman; and a friend to many. 

Visitation is on Thursday, Oct. 5 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, 2447 Desplaines Ave. in North Riverside. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 126 Herrick Road in Riverside. Interment will follow at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Stickney.
