Dorothy K. Peters (nee Kammers), 92, a resident of Brookfield since 1951, died Nov. 8, 2013 at ManorCare Health Services in Hinsdale.
Ms. Peters was a longtime children’s services librarian at the Brookfield Public Library, working there from 1967 until 1990. She was also a member of the Chicago Zoological Society, the Brook Park Seniors Club and St. Barbara’s Senior Club. She also enjoyed reading, knitting, playing bingo, bicycling and swimming.
Ms. Peters was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Peters in March 2002. She was the mother of Daniel Peters, John L. Peters, Doreen (Patrick Riley) Peters and Colette Peters; the sister of Irene Wharton; and the aunt of several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at St. Barbara Church, 4008 Prairie Ave. in Brookfield, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
