Riverside police on Friday announced that a home in the 200 block of Bartram Road was burglarized on Wednesday, Dec. 12 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

According to police, entry to the home was gained through a rear basement door, which was forced open.

It's the second residential burglary in Riverside in the past week. A home in the 700 block of Selborne Road was burglarized on Dec. 6. A rear door was forced open in that incident as well.

Police have issued a photo of a suspect connected to the Dec. 6 burglary. The man reportedly used credit cards stolen from the Selborne Road home at area businesses.  Video surveillance cameras captured the man's image at one of those businesses.

Police say they have increased daytime patrols in response to the burglaries and continue to investigate the two incidents.

Anyone with information about the suspect or either incident is asked to call Detective Sgt. David Krull at 708-447-2127, ext. 284 or email him at
