Laddie Homolka

Laddie F. Homolka, 90, of North Riverside, died Dec. 9, 2014 in Berwyn.

Mr. Homolka was born in Chicago on April 25, 1924 and graduated from Harrison High School in Chicago in 1942. He served in the U.S. Navy for three years, and saw combat action in the Pacific during World War II aboard the USS Adams, a destroyer/minesweeper that fought at the Battle of Okinawa.

A resident of North Riverside since 1956, Mr. Homolka worked as a stock manager at Sears prior to retirement.

Mr. Homolka was the husband of the late Vera M. Homolka (nee Matejovic); the father of Glenn (Jane) Homolka and Ken (Susan Schechter) Homolka; the grandfather of Megan (Joe) Clark and Dalton Homolka; the brother of Jerry (Geri) Homolka and the late Irene Kimmel; and the uncle to many. He is also survived by his dear friend and caregiver, Vera Boronova.
