Thaddeus S. Bochniarz, 86, United Airlines pilot

Thaddeus S. "Ted" Bochniarz, 86, of Westchester and formerly of Brookfield, died Feb. 6, 2013.

Mr. Bochniarz served in the U.S. Navy as a pilot during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. For 30 years he was a commercial airline pilot for United Airlines.

He was the husband of Dolores Bochniarz (nee Triner); the father of Fran (Richard) Jacobs, Paul Bochniarz, Philip (Susan) Bochniarz, Marian Knudsen and Anne (Vasun) Netisingha; the grandfather of Sarah (Rystin) King, Kristen (Nathan) Dant, Katie Knudsen, Kelly Netisingha, Peter Netisingha, Jamie Netisingha and Allison Kison; the great-grandfather of Elizabeth King, Jacob King, Carter Dant and Wyatt Dant; and the uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 8 at Divine Providence Church in Westchester, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
