Elizabeth J. Pfau, 96, North Riverside homemaker

Elizabeth J. Pfau (nee Rakowski), 96, of North Riverside and formerly of Cicero and Berwyn, died Jan. 29, 2013.

She was born in Cicero on July 8, 1916, one of 12 children in her family. She later married Charles F. Pfau Sr., who preceded his wife in death.

Ms. Pfau was the mother of Dawn (Richard) Pearson, Gregory (Ann) Parker, Charles F. (Lynn) Pfau and the late Holly O'Hare; the grandmother of Paul (Pam) Pearson, Kathy Pearson, Rachel (Tim) Bernero, David Pearson, Thomas Parker, Jill Thompson, Steve Parker, Matthew Pfau and Rosemary Pfau; the great-grandmother of Erika Herbst, Rachel Herbst, Johnny Herbst, Mandy Pearson, Nicole Pearson, Nathaniel Pearson, Eleanor Bernero, Anthony Bernero, Gianna Bernero and Chloe Thompson; and the sister of Dolly Rakowski and the late Marie, Frances, Celia, Pearl, Sylvester, Zigmund, Jan, Victoria, John Jr. and Rosemary.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 5 at Mater Christi Church in North Riverside, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
