James A. Fencl Jr., 93, a longtime resident of Brookfield, died March 2, 2015 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno.

Mr. Fencl served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He moved to Brookfield in 1951 and worked for 42 years as a parts allocator for the International Harvester Company in Broadview, retiring in 1981. He was also a member of the Berwyn-Cicero Elks.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret M. Fencl (nee Kalina), on Feb. 3, 2005. He was the father of James A. Fencl III and Mary Margaret (Dan) Hull and the brother of the late Bernice Fanning.

A funeral Mass was celebrated March 7 at St. Barbara Church in Brookfield, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

Memorial donations are appreciated to the Pastoral Care Ministry of St. Barbara Parish, 4008 Prairie Ave., Brookfield, Illinois, 60513.
