Alice B. Mitchell, 85, Longtime J.C. Penney employee

Alice B. Mitchell (nee Figlerowicz), 85, of Lincolnshire and formerly of North Riverside, died March 18, 2014 in Lincolnshire.

Ms. Mitchell was born April 13, 1928 and later married Joseph C. Mitchell, who preceded his wife in death.

For many years, Ms. Mitchell worked as a human resources employee for J.C. Penney at their location in the North Riverside Park Mall. She also enjoyed painting, drawing, supporting her community and her family.

 Ms. Mitchell was the wife of the late Joseph C. Mitchell; the mother of Richard (Anne Marie) Mitchell and Dale J. Mitchell; the grandmother of Nicole M., Kyle, Brittany M. and Tyler; the sister of Lydia (Ed Sr.) Javor and sister-in-law of Marilyn (Mick) LeGeoff; and the aunt of Edward Javor Jr., Barbara (Vern) Ray, Marilyn (Tom) Robaczewski, Kurt (Donna) Rackow, Kathy Rackow, Daniel Sidner, Bill Sidner, Sophie Solak, Nancy Mitchell, Linda (David) Soria and Christian (Barbara) Pawlak.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, 2447 Desplaines Ave. in North Riverside. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 29 at 9:30 a.m. at Mater Christi Church, 2431 10th Ave. in North Riverside, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
