Do any Brookfield residents have parkway trees that need trimming? If you do, you should wonder why the village is wasting time and money trimming trees on Prairie Avenue north of Washington Avenue.
The village has just recently trimmed those trees, the same trees that are scheduled to be cut down this spring for the Prairie Avenue reconstruction project. Don’t buy the rationale that it is just part of a future project, because that would certainly be a duplication of effort. Just another example of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.

Brookfield Public Works Director William Brandt said that the trees were trimmed before the village board gave final approval for the street project. He also said that not all the trees trimmed were slated for removal, and that no other trees slated for removal will be trimmed.
