In conjunction with the West Central Municipal Conference (WCMC) Electronics Recycling Program scheduled for June at West Leyden High School in Northlake, the Village of Riverside is endeavoring to make it easier for residents to dispose of electronic items.

On Friday, June 17 from 9 to 11 a.m. the village will collect items for the WCMC event at the village Public Works facility, 3860 Columbus Blvd. in Riverside Lawn. Residents can drop off computer equipment, printers, telephones, answering machines, cellphones, fax machines, TVs, VCRs and stereo equipment.

There will be a $5 drop-off fee (imposed by the WCMC) for each computer monitor and TV to cover the cost of recycling the picture tubes; receipts will be provided for the fee.

When the Public Works truck is full or after 11 a.m. (whichever comes first), the village will haul the items to the WCMC recycling location.

Anyone who can't make it to the Riverside drop-off time can make the trip out to the WCMC recycling location on June 17 or 18 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. West Leyden High School is located at 1000 Wolf Road in Northlake.
