Leslie E. Rowland, 92, engineer

Leslie E. Rowland, 92, of Brookfield, died June 5, 2013.

Mr. Rowland was born July 18, 1920 and served in the U.S Navy during World War II. After the war he worked as an engineer in the manufacturing industry. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and American Legion Coulter Post 1941.

He was the husband of Elva Rowland (nee Ohotzke); the father of Pamela Rowland, Gail (Dr. Kevin) Sherin and David (Joanie) Rowland; and the grandfather of Christopher Rowland, Grace Sherin, Amanda Rowland, Daniel Sherin, Melody Rowland and Jennifer Sherin.

A funeral service was held June 10 at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in LaGrange Park. Interment was at Bethania Cemetery in Justice.

Memorial donations are appreciated to St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 500 E. 31st St., LaGrange Park, Ill. 60526.

Hitzeman Funeral Home, Brookfield, handled arrangements.
