Dr. Daniel G. Cunningham, 88

Dr. Daniel G. Cunningham, 88, of LaPorte County, Indiana, died peacefully on May 23, 2020 at home. As a 40-year resident of Riverside, he served as a pediatrician to the local community. 

Dr. Cunningham was born in Glencolmcille, County Donegal, Ireland to Daniel and Anna (nee O'Byrne) Cunningham. He earned a medical degree from the University College Galway and completed his pediatric training through Loyola University. 

In his 50 years as an academic pediatrician, Dr. Cunningham excelled as a kind doctor and role model for scores of young physicians. His work inspired a lifelong commitment to global health.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 60 years, Margaret (nee Korbelik); his six children, Mary (Andrew), Anne (Joe), Dan (Deborah), Ellen (James), John (Vicky) and Margaret (Jacob); 13 grandchildren; three siblings, Pat, John, and Anne of Ireland; and countless friends and relatives.

A funeral Mass and celebration of life was held on May 30. Please send condolences to the family at LakeviewFHC.com.
