Virginia R. Hanna, 80, former Brookfield resident

Virginia R. Hanna, of Earlville and formerly of Brookfield, died June 22, 2014 at Ottawa Pavilion in Ottawa.

She was born in Oak Park on June 29, 1933 to William and Martha (nee Adamski) Johnston. She married John W. 

Hanna on Feb. 23, 1957 in Oak Park. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Earlville.

Ms. Hanna is survived by her daughters, Cindy Martin of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Karen (Allen) Baum of Brookfield; her sons, Mark W. (Lorrie) Hanna of Romeoville and David (Margaret/Peggy) Hanna of Earlville; her grandchildren, Josh Hanna, Amy (Jim) Piper, Earl (Katie) Baum, James Baum and David Baum; three great grandchildren, Caleb, Carly and Braydon; her sister Mary Ellen Kendle of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, and her brother, William Johnston.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, June 25 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 221 W. Union St. in Earlville, followed by interment in the St. Theresa Cemetery.

Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home, Earlville, handled arrangements.
