Michael C. Garvey, 84, of Brookfield and formerly of Tiermaclane Ennis, County Clare, Ireland, died on May 31, 2019. Born on Dec. 13, 1934, he worked as an operating engineer prior to retirement. 

Mr. Garvey was the husband of Elizabeth P. Garvey (nee Conmy); the father of Michael (Barb) Garvey, John "Sean" (Michelle) Garvey and the late Anthony (Sandy) Garvey; the grandfather of Kevin, Karen, Jake, Luke, Joey, Brayden and Nicholas Garvey: the brother of John Joe Garvey and the late Gerald P. (Frances) Garvey; and the uncle of Geraldine (Patrick) Nolan. 

A funeral Mass was celebrated June 4 at St. Louise de Marillac Church in LaGrange Park, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

The family appreciates donations to St. Louise de Marillac Church, 1144 Harrison Ave., La Grange Park, 60526. 

Hitzeman Funeral Home, Brookfield, handled arrangements.
