Sharon M. Attaway, 79, of Brookfield and formerly of LaGrange Park, died May 24, 2015 at Midwest Care Center Hospice at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
Prior to retirement, Ms. Attaway was employed for 30 years as an administrative assistant for the Milwaukee Railroad and Soo Line Railroad. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Brookfield VFW Post 2868 and of the Disabled American Veterans.
She was the wife of the late Kenneth M. Attaway and the late George J. Govedarica; the mother of Pam (Randy) Hill, Tanya (Gary) Barnick and the late Camille (John) Bisioulis; the stepmother of Brian Attaway, Kenneth (Samantha) Attaway, Eve (Frank) Trout, the late Daniel Attaway and the late Michael Attaway; the grandmother of 13; the great-grandmother of two; and the sister of Marilee Kenney and Frank Major.
A funeral Mass was celebrated May 30 at St. Barbara Church in Brookfield, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Memorial donations are appreciated to Disabled American Veterans.
