Orlando "Lon" Garapolo, 97, of LaGrange and formerly of Brookfield, died June 27, 2013.

Mr. Garapolo was born June 26, 1916 and worked as an engineer for the Wilson Sporting Goods Company before retirement,

He was the husband of Elizabeth "Betty" Garapolo (nee Wilbur); the father of Elaine (James) Johnson and Jean (Richard) Hoffman; the grandfather of Dane Rankin (Beth Vogt), Jill (Michael) Foley, Jordan Rankin (Andrea Milionis) and Steven (Dawn) Hoffman; the great-grandfather of Sarah Foley, Maya Rankin, Tessa Rankin, Althea Millions, Orlando Milionis, Felix Milionis and Hillary Hoffman; and the brother of Rose Michelin.

Funeral services have been held. Memorial donations are appreciated to the building fund at Grace Lutheran Church, 200 N. Catherine Ave., LaGrange, Ill. 60525.

Hitzeman Funeral Home, Brookfield, handled arrangements.
