John E. "Jack" Ryder, 68, of LaGrange Park, died on June 26, 2019. 

Born on October 12, 1950, he was a contract specialist in the education field. He also served in the U.S. Navy. 

Mr. Ryder was the husband of Deborah A. Ryder (nee Rizzo); "father" of Jona and Bryan Van Deun; "Big Jack" to Barrett Van Deun and Ainsley Van Deun; brother of Susan (Roland) Cull and Barbara (Edward) Welk; brother-in-law of Nick Rizzo, Sue Sullivan, Marty (Sue) Rizzo and Kris (Dick) Schultz; and the uncle and great-uncle of many nieces and nephews. 

A memorial gathering with date and time to be announced, will be held in August at First United Methodist Church, 100 W. Cossitt Ave. in LaGrange. Interment is private. 

In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates memorials to First United Methodist Church, 100 W. Cossitt Ave., La Grange, 60525. 

Hitzeman Funeral Home, Brookfield, handled arrangements.
