Sophie V. Kalinski, 75, a resident of Brookfield and former resident of Oak Park, died July 14, 2013 at LaGrange Memorial Hospital.
Ms. Kalinski lived in Oak Park for 20 years, from 1967 to 1987 and then moved to Brookfield, where she lived for the remainder of her life. She worked for more than 15 years as a secretary at the Hines V.A. Hospital in Maywood, retiring in 2002.
She was a member of the St. Barbara Parish Council of Catholic Women and also enjoyed crafts, gardening, camping, bowling and reading.
Ms. Kalinski was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Kalinski, on April 2, 2002.
She is survived by her sons, Keith (Linda) Kalinski and Kirk Kalinski; her daughter, Beth (Pat) Rochford; and her grandchildren, Kristopher and Jessica Kalinski.
A funeral Mass was celebrated July 17 at St. Barbara Church, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice.
Memorial donations are appreciated to the American Lung Association.
