Anne Krejcik

Anne C. Krejcik (nee Burianek), 81, of Brookfield, died July 25, 2014 surrounded by family members at her home.

Ms. Krejcik was born and raised in Berwyn. She graduated from Nazareth Academy in 1950 and two years later married Emil Krejcik. The couple set up their home in Brookfield and Ms. Krejcik worked at Hotpoint until the birth of her first child, Mike. She raised five children and, according to family, always had enough room for the many “adopted” kids that seemed to gravitate toward the Krejcik home.

She took several college classes, was a member of the Lions Club and was instrumental in the startup of the Brookfield Civil Defense. Ms. Krejcik was also an active member of St. Barbara Parish, where she was a Eucharistic minister, a member of the Women’s Club, Band Parents Association and choir.

Ms. Krejcik was the wife of the late Emil Krejcik; the mother of Mike (Liz) Krejcik, Sue (Mike) Levins, Patti (Carey) Caldwell, Steve (Kathy) Krejcik and Linda Hare; the grandmother of Krystal Krejcik, Steven Krejcik, Jeffrey Krejcik, Ryan Krejcik and Matt Levins; the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Burianek; and the sister of Joe (Martha) Burianek.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 16 and 10 a.m. at St. Barbara Church, 4008 Prairie Ave. in Brookfield.

Memorial donations are appreciated to the Chicago Zoological Society Women’s Board, 3300 Golf Road, Brookfield, Illinois, 60513.
