Joseph F. Mullarkey Jr., 69, of LaGrange and formerly of Brookfield, died Sept. 18, 2014 at LaGrange Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Mullarkey lived in Brookfield from 1954 to 1985. He graduated from Riverside-Brookfield High School in 1963 and was an avid movie fan and historian. He worked for more than 15 years as a messenger for the Cushing Company in Chicago prior to retiring in 1994.

He is survived by his brothers, Dennis (Kim) Mullarkey, John Mullarkey, John Madden and Terry (Leslie) Madden, and by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 23 at St. Barbara Church in Brookfield, followed by interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Johnson Funeral Home, Brookfield, handled arrangements.
