Getting around in downtown Riverside is going to be a bit tricky this weekend.

The Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railroad notified the village on Monday that the grade crossing at Longcommon Road will be shut down for repairs from 10 a.m. on Friday, April 11 until 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 12.

According to the railroad, there's an issue in the center of grade crossing that needs to be addressed. While the closure won't affect rush hour or school drop-off on Friday morning, the crossing will be closed when school lets out Friday afternoon and for the Friday evening rush hour.

Motorists are being asked to plan accordingly — the Cowley Road and Delaplaine Road grade crossings will be open to traffic — and exercise patience when navigating the downtown Riverside area.
