Brookfield resident Steve M. Boricevic, 31, was charged with public indecency and sexual exploitation of a child after allegedly masturbating outside the bedroom window of an apartment building in the 4600 block of Raymond Avenue, Brookfield, just after 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 3.

When police arrived at the scene, they arrested a man matching Boricevic’s description near the building. He was reportedly identified by two teenage girls who witnessed the incident.

According to the report, two 14-year-old girls were sitting on the stairs in the foyer of an enclosed apartment lobby, when they noticed Boricevic ride past on his bike several times.

At one point, Boricevic allegedly walked to the front door and put his face against it, at which time the girls ran up the stairs and woke up a 19-year-old woman inside. Shortly, they reported hearing something outside a bedroom window on the north side of the building. When they looked out the window they saw Boricevic standing on the driveway, allegedly masturbating, and called 911.

Burglary

Sometime on either Sept. 4 or 5, someone kicked open the locked office door inside Ashley’s Wash & Dry laundromat, 9014 47th St., Brookfield, and stole the cash register key and $320 from the cash drawer.

? During the overnight hours of Sept. 4-5 someone entered a 2002 Chevy van parked in the 4400 block of DuBois Boulevard, Brookfield, and removed the in-dash Sony GPS system valued at $2,000.

DUI

Brookfield police charged Maywood resident Kenneth R. Palmer, 32, with DUI and other traffic offenses after an officer observed him allegedly accelerate out of the BP station in the 9100 block of Ogden Avenue at a high rate of speed. Afterward, Palmer reportedly weaved between lanes and finally parked his 1994 Honda partially on the sidewalk when pulled over.

After admitting to “a few sips of beer” he failed field sobriety tests and blew a .122 on the Breathalyzer.

? Brookfield police charged Justice resident Stanislawa Stoch, 44, with DUI and other traffic offenses after receiving a call from a motorist of a 2004 Jeep Liberty weaving all over the road into oncoming traffic while northbound on Prairie Avenue at Windemere Avenue on Sept. 5 at 8:03 p.m.

When stopped near the Brookfield post office, Stoch reportedly admitted drinking and failed one field sobriety test before refusing others. She refused to submit to a breath test.

? Riverside police charged Edgardo Mendoza, 31, of Chicago, with driving under the influence after North Riverside police received a 911 cell phone call about a possible drunk driver headed southbound on First Avenue near the Zoo Woods at 1:39 p.m. on Sept. 10.

An officer responding to the scene reportedly witnessed a 1991 Saturn drifting between lanes and crossing the double yellow line. After stopping the vehicle, the officer talked to the driver, Mendoza, and reported that he appeared intoxicated. Although field sobriety tests couldn’t be completed due to a language barrier, a portable breath test at the scene showed Mendoza’s blood-alcohol level to .27, over three times the legal limit. At the station a separate breath test showed a level of .238.

In addition to DUI, he was also cited for having no valid license, no insurance among other things.

? Berwyn resident Sergio Mendoza, 27, was charged with DUI by Riverside police after he allegedly drove his 1998 Cadillac into a parked van in the 3200 block of Harlem Avenue at 1:13 a.m. on Sept. 9 and fled the scene. A Stickney officer pulled over Mendoza near Harlem and 40th Pl., and officers observed that the Cadillac was heavily damaged and that Mendoza was incapable of completing field sobriety tests due to his alleged heavily intoxicated state. He was also cited for leaving the scene of an accident among other traffic charges.

? Riverside police charged Berwyn resident Leslie Kennedy, 39, with DUI and other traffic offenses after an officer observed his vehicle swerving from lane to lane while northbound on Harlem Avenue in the 3000 block on Sept. 9 at 1:25 a.m. After Kennedy reportedly stopped his car for a red light in the middle of the Harlem/Longcommon intersection, he was detained by police. After failing field sobriety tests, he reportedly blew a .290, over three times the legal limit, on the Breathalyzer.

? Chicago resident Edwin Pagan, 36, was charged by Riverside police with DUI after being stopped for speeding while southbound on Harlem Avenue at 1:07 a.m. on Sept. 11. Reportedly exhibiting signs of intoxication, Pagan failed field sobriety tests and had a blood-alcohol level of .14.

? Riverside police charged Cicero resident Wulfrano Perez, 30, with DUI and other traffic offenses after he was stopped for speeding 63 mph in a 30 mph zone on Harlem Avenue in the 2500 block. In addition the DUI, he was cited for illegal transportation of open alcohol (three open bottles of beer).

? William T. Campbell, 37, of Riverside was charged with DUI and traffic offenses after he allegedly drove his 1997 Mercury the wrong way down Pine Avenue in Riverside past a patrol car. Campbell was detained in a nearby public parking lot, where he allegedly admitting drinking beer. After failing field sobriety tests, he refused to submit to a breath test.

These items were obtained from police reports filed by the Riverside and Brookfield police departments from Sept. 2 through Sept. 12 and represents a portion of the incidents to which police responded. Unless otherwise indicated, anyone named in these reports has only been charged with a crime. The cases have not yet been adjudicated.
