Mario Triplet saved the day for the RB football team on Saturday. With the scored tied 20-20, Triplet, who was not on the punt return team the week prior, blocked a Fenton punt late in the fourth quarter, recovered the ball and scampered 18 yards for the game-winning touchdown. The Bulldogs, who were only able to run two plays on offense in the first quarter and who trailed 14-0 at halftime, came away with a 28-20 Suburban Prairie (East) Conference victory.

Chris Pesek hit Mike Razneiwski for a 10-yard touchdown in the third period to finally get the Bulldogs on the board. With the 2-point conversion thwarted, RB trailed 14-6.

But Pesek burrowed in from a yard out with 7:09 left in the third, and then found Matt Sandrik for the 2-point conversion to tie things up 14-14 going into the fourth.

Louis Avila put the Bison back on top with a 24-yard TD run. The extra-point was no good.

Pesek (25 of 44, 355 yards) found Razneiwski for a 28-yard TD with 2:10 left in the game, before Triplet’s heroics.

Fenton’s Brent Baker scored his team’s first two touchdowns?”a 5-yard run and a 57-yard run.

RB receivers were busy all afternoon. Oscar Reyes finished with 12 catches for 128 yards, while Razneiwski snagged five for 122 yards and Sandrik six for 90.

With an overall record of 3-4, the Bulldogs must win their last two games to have a chance at postseason play. The team hosts Elmwood Park this Friday (7:30 p.m.).
