A well-balanced scoring attack led the RB boys basketball team to a 76-54 throttling of Lemont on Friday night.

The Bulldogs stayed perfect in the Suburban Prairie (East) Conference at 4-0. RB’s eight-point lead in the first quarter swelled to 16 by halftime.

Chris Parish and Matt Sandrik led the Bulldogs by both scoring 18 points apiece. Parrish also hauled down 10 rebounds, while Sandrik grabbed six and dished out six assists.

Jake Nash, Mark Gorman, and Steve Wilhelm each added 11 points apiece for RB’s ninth victory on the season.

RB hosts Fenton in a highly-anticipated SPC matchup this Friday (7 p.m.).

Magyarics vaults RB to first

Dana Magyarics led the RB gymnastics team to a first place finish at the Niles North Invitational on Saturday.

Magyarics took first in the vault event with a score of 9.65, and second in the uneven bars with an 8.65.

Sam Brown finished first on the beam with a 9.2.

The Bulldogs finished with a total team score of 27.025.

Risley rises to the occasion

Graham Risley’s two first place finishes at the Riverside Brookfield Invitational led the host team a fourth place finish.

Risley finished first in the 100 butterfly with a time of :55.04, and the 100 backstroke in :55.48.

St. Ignatius won the invite with a score of 316, while Andrew (282) and Oswego (185) rounded out second and third places respectively.

RB garnered a team score of 170.

Ford and Tulley come through for LT

A sophomore and a junior propelled the Lyons Township swim team to first place at the St. Charles East Invitational on Saturday.

Junior Ross Ford and sophomore Kevin Tulley won a total of four events to help the Lions score 339 points at the six-team invite.

Ford won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:06.96, and the 100 butterfly in :55.86. Tulley won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:06.48. Tulley also won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:23.
