Brookfield resident Patty Borowitz has been chosen as one of the 64 semifinalists in the 2006 Loop Rock Girl Contest, and local residents can help her win the title next week.

On Tuesday, April 18 between 11 and 11:30 a.m., anyone can vote in semifinals via in the Internet (site registration is required) or by telephone at (312) 591-ROCK (7625). There is no limit to the number of votes callers can cast by phone. The winner will be announced shortly thereafter.

If Borowitz wins that time slot, she’ll move to the finals between 6 and 6:30 p.m. The same rules for voting apply. If she wins that time slot, she’ll be one of 16 finalists to compete for the Loop Rock Girl title in Chicago on April 29.

The 22-year-old Borowitz, a 2002 graduate of Riverside-Brookfield High School, has appeared on the local access cable TV show “Motorsports Unlimited” for the past two years.
