Sandra J. Mikula, 67, Waitress, cashier
Sandra J. Mikula, 67, a resident of Brookfield for 45 years, died Sept. 4, 2006 at LaGrange Memorial Hospital.

Ms. Mikula was married to Robert F. Mikula, who preceded his wife in death on Nov. 7, 1989. She was employed in a variety of capacities over the years at many local businesses, including LaGori’s restaurant in Brookfield and Riverside bakery. During the 1970s she worked as a waitress. She was a secretary during the 1980s and worked as a cashier in the late 1980s. She enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her mother, Stella Biel (nee Nosal); her daughters, Karen McMahon and Laura (Sam) Johnston; her son, Michael Mikula; her sister, Bonita Manganiello; and her grandchildren, Kevin McMahon, Meghan McMahon, Brian McMahon, Delaney Johnston and Brynn Johnston. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Kahn.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 7 at St. Louise de Marillac Church, LaGRange Park, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.

Memorial contributions were appreciated to the American Cancer Society.

Pauline Oleszynski, 84, North Riverside residentPauline Oleszynski, of North Riverside, died Sept. 7, 2006 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. She was 84 years old.

She is survived by her husband, Felix Oleszynski; her children, Steven (Joyce) Cory and Janis Riedl; her grandchildren, Michael Cory and Susannah Riedl; her brother, Keith (Jaunice) Wichenbach; and her sister, Lois Small. She was preceded in death by her son, Jon F. Oleszynski.

A funeral service was held Sept. 9 at Kuratko Funeral Home, North Riverside, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Forest Park.


Edward T. Supay, 77, Artist

Edward T. Supay, a resident of Batavia who formerly lived in North Riverside, died Sept. 3, 2006 at the age of 77 at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva.

Mr. Supay was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving from 1946-48. A member of the North Riverside VFW Post and the Triads, Mr. Supay was self-employed as an artist who loved painting, sketching and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Florence Supay (nee Zaabel); his step-children, Kathleen (Gary) Phillips and David B. (Janet) Ahr; his sister, Bernice Zawada; five step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren. He was uncle to Sandy Bisceglia and Jeff (Harriet) Zawada.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 8 at Mater Christi Church in North Riverside, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
