Michael A. Dul, 50, Village of North Riverside employee
North Riverside resident Michael A. Dul, 50, died Nov. 26, 2006 at his home.

A former laborer for the Village of North Riverside and 28-year member of the White Feather Indian Club, he is the beloved son of Elaine (nee Zavislak) and the late Edmund J. Dul.

He is survived by his brothers, David (Deborah) Dul and Timothy (Patricia) Dul; his sister, Janet (Joseph) Fricano; his nephews, Edmund (Erin) Dul and Ryan Dul; and his nieces, Jennifer (Frank) Vale, Janine Fricano and Madeline Dul.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 29 at Mater Christi Church, North Riverside, followed by entombment at Resurrection Garden Mausoleum.

Eleanor P. Harrigan, 89, Brokfield homemaker
Eleanor P. Harrigan (nee Pytlewicz), a Brookfield resident since 1950, died Nov. 22, 2006 at her home at the age of 89.

A homemaker who enjoyed flower gardening, oil painting, golfing and bowling, Ms. Harrigan was also a member of the St. Barbara Parish Council of Catholic Women. She was married to John B. Harrigan, who preceded his wife in death on Sept. 7, 2005.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan M. Harrigan. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, John Pytlewicz, Gene Pytlewicz, Emily Pytlewicz, Violet Cuyler, Lillian Chappatta and Irene Lannick.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 25 at St. Barbara Church, Brookfield, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.

Joseph W. Kilberger, 90, Retired civil engineer
Joseph W. Kilberger, a resident of Brookfield, died Nov. 20, 2006 at Sunrise Assisted Living Center, Willowbrook. He was 90.

Mr. Kilberger, a civil engineer, who retired in 1977 from the Cook County Highway Department after 30 years of employment, was a member of the Czechoslovak Society of America, Lodge 434 (Sokol Pilsen). A former gymnast and tennis player, he also enjoyed playing golf and woodworking projects in his spare time.

He is survived by his wife of more than 65 years, Libuse R. Kilberger (nee Nekola), whom he married in Chicago, Aug. 18, 1940; his son, Joseph C. (Eleanor); daughter, Karen (Michael) Gallagher; grandchildren, Kenneth Kilberger, Kevin Kilberger, Kristin Gallagher and Nora Gallagher; and his great-grandchildren, Morgan, Nikki and Kendall Kilberger.

A private family service was followed by entombment at Bohemian National Cemetery, Chicago.

Edwin J. Kraus, 78, Electrical engineer
Edwin J. Kraus, 78, a resident of Riverside for 45 years and a former resident of Lyons, died Nov. 20, 2006 at LaGrange Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Kraus was U.S. Army veteran who served from 1950-52 during the Korean War. After his time in the service, he spent 35 years as an electrical engineer at the Sunbeam Corp. He was active as a member of the Holy Name Society at St. Mary Church in Riverside and also as a member of the Cicero Moose Lodge and the American Legion. He also enjoyed working with wood and stained glass and loved to travel.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Kraus (nee Kubert); his sons, James (JoAnn) Kraus, William Kraus, Paul Kraus, Thomas (Beth) Kraus and Bob (Amy) Kraus; his daughters, Carol Kraus and Susan Breska; 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Kraus.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 25 at St. Mary Church in Riverside, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.

Memorial contributions were appreciated to the American Diabetes Association or to St. Mary Church.

Lucie M. Piekos, 70, Retired nurse
Lucie M. Piekos, a resident of St. Cloud, Fla. and former resident of North Riverside, died Nov. 17, 2006 at the St. Cloud Regional Medical Center. She was 70.

For many years, Ms. Piekos was a nurse at a number of retirement homes, including the British Home in Brookfield, the Scottish Home in North Riverside and the King Bruwaert House in Burr Ridge. She was also an avid gardener.

She is survived by her children, Stephanie Piekos and Timothy Piekos.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 28 at St. Mary Church, Riverside. Interment was at Mount Peace Cemetery in St. Cloud, Fla.

Meredythe S. Poltrock, 64, Brookfield resident
Brookfield resident Meredythe S. Poltrock (nee Noorlag), 64, died Nov. 21, 2006 at University of Chicago Hospital.

Born in Evanston June 25, 1942 to Nick and Jessie Noorlag, she was married to Lawrence Poltrock and raised two children.

She is survived by her husband; her children, Jennifer Poltrock and William (Lesley) Poltrock; her grandchildren, Catherine Humphrey and Brooke Poltrock; and her sister, Ardythe Tiesenga.

A funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Bert DeJong, was held Nov. 27 at Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, followed by interment at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace.

William A. Wenzel, 94, Lifelong sportsman
Riverside resident William A. Wenzel, 94, died Nov. 23, 2006 at Beacon Hill Assisted Living, Lombard.

A former employee of Central Can Company, Chicago, Mr. Wenzel was an avid fisherman, lifelong sportsman and international traveler, who favored Canada for his fishing trips.

He was the founder of the Riverside Fishing Club, and, in 1947, he took first place in the Chicago Tribune casting tournament. He was also a finalist in the 1933 Golden Gloves boxing tournament.

He is the beloved husband of the late Esther Wenzel, and is survived by his son William A. (Mary) Wenzel, and grandchild Carrie Wenzel.

A funeral service was held Nov. 28 at Ivins Funeral Home, followed by entombment at Queen of Heaven Christ the King Mausoleum in Hillside.

Elton E. Williams, 90, Brookfield resident
Elton E. Williams, a longtime Brookfield resident who was born in LaGrange Park, died Nov. 16, 2006 in Brookfield at the age of 90.

Mr. Williams graduated from two LaGrange-area schools, Ogden Grade School and Lyons Township High School, in 1930 and 1934 respectively. He retired in 1978 from the position of supervisor at the Illinois Bell Telephone Company after 44 years of employment, and was a lifetime member of Telephone Pioneers of America. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf and woodworking.

He was the beloved husband of the late Lois A. (nee Belknap) Williams, who died May 3 of this year, and is survived by his son, Richard “Lee” (Rosa Maria) Williams; daughters, Dayle (Norman) Rullo, Janet (Donald) Barici and Judith Jeffries; his brother, Donald K. Williams; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Nov. 28 at the interment chapel of Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace, followed by interment.
