Anna Bzduch, 81, Active in Riverside church
Anna Bzduch (nee Jaso), 81, died June 13, 2007 at The British Home in Brookfield. A former resident of Westchester and Cicero, Ms. Bzduch was a resident of Willowbrook at the time of her death.
She was born in Chicago on April 24, 1926 to Stefan and Kristina (nee Vacula) Jaso, she married Martin Bzduch, who survives his wife. Ms. Bzduch worked in quality control for the Sears subsidiary Terminal Freight Handling Company.
She was also one of the founding officers of the Sts. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church Ladies Dorcas Society and a member of the Myjavsky Club.
In addition to her husband, Ms. Bzduch is survived by her daughters, Donna (Robert) Tuider of North Riverside and Ann (Martin) Pennino of Willowbrook, and her granddaughter, Kristina Tuider.
A funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Dennis Lauritsen, was held June 16 at. Sts. Peter and Paul Church, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Forest Park.

Caroline T. Smigaj, 87, Homemaker
Caroline T. Smigaj, 87, died June 13, 2007 at her Brookfield home.
Ms. Smigaj and her husband, Louis R. Smigaj, were longtime residents of River Grove. Mr. Smigaj died in December 1990, and Ms. Smigaj moved to Brookfield two years later.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the River Grove American Post. In Brookfield, she was a member of the St. Barbara Council of Catholic Women. She also enjoyed reading.
Ms. Smigaj is survived by her daughter, Catherine (John) Gischlar; her grand daughters, Karen Shallow, Mary Gischlar and Elizabeth Gischlar; her great grandchildren, Brittany Shallow and Caitlin Shallow; and her sister Julie Yerka.
A funeral Mass was celebrated June 19 at St. Barbara Church, Brookfield, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.

Geraldine R. Spulak, 78, Retired packager
Brookfield resident Geraldine R. Spulak died June 17, 2007 at the age of 78 at her home.
Ms. Spulak was married to Richard J. Spulak, who preceded his wife in death on Jan. 13, 2000. For 12 years she worked as a packager for the Automatic Electric Company of Northlake, retiring in 1983. She was a longtime resident of Brookfield, living in the village since 1954.
An avid Chicago Cubs fan, Ms, Spulak also enjoyed reading, crocheting and playing cards. In addition, she was a member of the St. Barbara Council of Catholic Women.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (David) Thatcher, Nadine (Robert) Trax, Nina Petry and Nanette Biagini; her sons, Timothy (Linda) Spulak and Terrence Spulak; 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 20 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, 3845-47 Prairie Ave., Brookfield. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 21 at 10 a.m. at St. Barbara Church, 4008 Prairie Ave., Brookfield, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
