Riverside resident Pauline Kaminski, a 6th grader at Hauser Junior High School, participated in the State Junior Olympics last month and became a state champion in the 100-meter butterfly event.
As a member of Team Illinois, Kaminski also qualified for the Central Zone Championship in Cleveland, Ohio, where she won the 100-meter breaststroke.
Not only did Kaminski place first in the 100-meter butterfly at the Junior Olympics, but she finished third in the 50-meter breaststroke, the 200-meter individual medley, and the 100-meter breaststroke. Kaminski finished fourth and fifth respectively in the 200-meter freestyle and 50-meter butterfly.
