The Riverside Brookfield High School Pupettes Pom and Dance Team has earned a trip to the Team Dance Illinois State Championship in Peoria on March 2, 2008. After working together since last June, performing at all home football and basketball games and competing in four regionals since December, the Pupettes qualified for a trip to state at their last competition of the year. The team’s hip hop routine, Fuego, received a state qualifying score and placed first at the Argo regional. Their pom routine, Toxic, failed to qualify, but did earn a third place finish at the regional.
First year Pupettes coach, Mo Gorman, said, “The girls earned this chance to compete one more time at state. They truly performed as a team, not a group of individuals. I’m especially happy for my four seniors.”
Team members are captains Jackie Curtin and Cassie Garza, Brigitte Collazo, Lauren DeRosier, Angles Gonzales, Danielle Kovack, Hannah Langosch, Jessica Piper, Melissa Pruitt, Clara Shaw, Kristen Vitek, Abby Williams, and Sara Willinger.
