Clara M. Geschke, 84, Former Brookfield resident
Clara M. Geschke (nee Penrod), 84, a former resident of Brookfield, died Aug. 24, 2008 at her home in Downers Grove.
She was born on Jan. 28, 1924 in Hanging Rock, Ohio, to Bishop and Jessie (nee Cable) Penrod. She married Henry W. Geschke, who preceded his wife in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and by her son, Jake Geschke.
Ms. Geschke is survived by her daughters, Joyce Cunningham and Jill Geschke; her grandchildren, Michael Cunningham, Kelley Grieshop, Tracy Raketic and Kevin Geschke; four great grandchildren; and her brother, Cleve (Valerie) Bundy.
A funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Sid Frazen, will be held Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 11 a.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 31st St., Brookfield, followed by interment at Glen Oak Cemetery in Hillside.

Victor J. Skill, 89, Danley Steel retiree
North Riverside resident Victor J. Skill, 89, died Aug. 21, 2008.
Born on Nov. 18, 1918 and formerly of Cicero, Mr. Skill was an inspector at Danley Steel prior to his retirement. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of VFW Post 2378, American Legion Post 96, the Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Mr. Skill is survived by his wife, Helen Skill (nee Bettina); his step-children, Joseph (Sue) Bettina and Jo Ann (Patrick) Neville; his niece, Louise (James) Gildo; his nephew, Richard (Joyce) Skill; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Stella Skill, and his brothers, Eugene Skill and Simon Skill.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Aug. 23 at Mater Christi Church in North Riverside, followed by entombment at St. Joseph Cemetery.
