Riverside-Brookfield High School chapter of “Best Buddies,” a program dedicated to providing opportunities for friendship between special and regular education students and is dedicated to “promoting the social integration of people with intellectual disabilities in their communities,” recently won recognition as an outstanding chapter at Best Buddies International’s annual student leadership conference.
RB was chosen as one of 19 high school chapters to receive an Outstanding Chapter Award from more than 900 high school programs internationally. The four-day leadership conference, which was attended by RB chapter President Joanna Sobiech, was hosted by Indiana University in July.
