The Fenwick boys water polo team annihilated St. Rita 29-2 last week. Joe Ahern led the onslaught for the Friars with four goals, while Ed Osmolak, Mark Ryden, John Osborne and Will Rigali each finished with three goals apiece.
Connor Brown, Chris Dan, Ryan Mastalerz, Brian Barron and Chris Wendt each chipped in two goals apiece for the Friars, who pushed their early-season record to 4-0 with the victory.
Fenwick hosts the Dan Lynch Classic beginning Thursday, March 26.
Ruge signs with St. Francis
Riverside-Brookfield High School senior baseball player Joe Ruge recently signed a letter of intent to attend and play ball for the University of St. Francis (Joliet) next fall.
Ruge will play under legendary coach Gordon Gillespie, who has had 57 of his former players sign professional baseball contracts.
Junior Bulldogs score big at tourneys
The 4th-grade girls junior Bulldog basketball team won the St. Charles Stormin’ to the Hoop Tournament.
The team, which consists of Sam Bloom, Lyndsey Hoyd, Molly Cullinane, Natalie Jensen, Chardonnay Leark and Taylor Jensen, also won the Wildcats Shootout. The Bulldogs took second at the Midwest Hoops Fest.
