Lyons Township High School science teacher Jason Crean has been recognized as an Illinois state-level finalist for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching program. He is one of three state-level finalists and will be recognized at the Illinois Science Teachers Association conference in November.

Each state-level finalist is a candidate for a state Presidential Award, the highest teacher award in the nation. State presidential awardees will be selected this summer by a national selection committee comprised of science educators, teachers and former award winners.

Crean has taught at LTHS for eight years and has been honored many times for his excellence in teaching, most recently with the National Science Teachers Association’s “Making a Difference” award.
