On Aug. 5, the Riverside Township Lions Club, in partnership with the American Cancer Society, held a skin cancer screening Event at the North Riverside Village Commons.
A remarkable success, the event was attended by over 50 individuals who received the benefit of free private screenings by local dermatologists. Plans are in the works to expand this well-received program next year.
This event would not have been possible without the efforts of several volunteers dedicated to bringing this program to the community, namely Drs. Rosemary Chen and Sophia Welykyj, dermatologists; Carmen Carrizales of the American Cancer Society, Sue Frampton and staff at North Riverside Village Commons and fellow Lions Joanne Kosey, Joe Kosey and Jon Jansky.
