Alta E. Blasko, 83, Former Brookfield resident

Alta E. Blasko (nee Miller), 83, a former resident of Brookfield, died Sept. 15, 2009. She was a resident of Sandwich at the time of her death.

Ms. Blasko was born on Jan. 12, 1926 in Chicago to Walter and Stella (nee Owen) Miller. She married Frank Blasko, who preceded his wife in death. The couple raised two daughters.

Ms. Blasko is survived by her daughters, Maryanne (Leonard) Nolder and Kathleen (John) Herald, of Northville, Mich.; her grandchildren, Lorry Parker, Larry Spielman, Lesley Rangaswamy and John Herald; her sisters, Mildred Imnormino, Katherine (Thomas) Forrester and Barbara Gibson.

A funeral service was held Sept. 19 at Cornerstone Community Church in Brookfield, followed by interment at Clarendon Hills Cemetery.

Memorial contributions were appreciated to Huron Woods, in care of Kathleen Herald.

Katherine A. DiNatale, 93, Retired from AT&T

Katherine A. DiNatale (nee Calabrese), 93, a resident of LaGrange Park, died Sept. 19, 2009.

Ms. DiNatale was born on Feb. 1, 1916. For many years she worked as a long-distance operator for AT&T prior to her retirement. In addition she was a beautician and housewife who enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, embroidery and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam DiNatale.

Ms. DiNatale is survived by her son, former Riverside village president Joseph (Adele) DiNatale; her grandchildren, Joseph (Betty) DiNatale, Katherine (Edward) Campbell, Marc (Gwen) DiNatale, Maria (Wayne) Madden, Cara DiNatale and Michael (Jacqueline) DiNatale; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 23 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, 2447 Desplaines Ave. in North Riverside. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Sept. 24 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Louise de Marillac Church, 30th Street and Raymond Avenue in LaGrange Park, followed by interment at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Hillside.

Memorial contributions are appreciated to Shriners Hospital for Children.

Frances Zwierzchowski, 82, Mother of six

Brookfield resident Frances Zwierzchowski (nee Pavol), 82, died Sept. 18, 2009 at Hinsdale Hospital.

Born in Chicago on Dec. 7, 1926 to Francis and Mary (nee Farkas) Zwierzchowski, she married Richard Zwierzchowski and raised six children. She was preceded in death by her husband and by her children, Joanne Zwierzchowski, Richard Zwierzchowski and Leonard Zwierzchowski.

She is survived by her children, Daniel (Debbie) Zwierzchowski, Catherine (Patrick) Benjamin and Barbara (John) Steeley and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services and interment were private.
