Due to construction of the new Countryside Senior Apartments on Joliet Road next door to the offices for the Township of Lyons, the township assessor’s office has been temporarily relocated.
Until further notice, anyone wishing to visit the Lyons Township Assessor’s Office must go to 5540 East Ave. in Countryside, which is adjacent to the Countryside municipal offices.
Hours of the assessor’s office are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and evening meetings can be made by appointment by calling 485-2377 or e-mailing to townshiplyons@lyonsts.com.
In a press release on Monday, Township Supervisor Russell Hartigan noted that since tax bills were mailed out to residents, the township has had more visitors to the assessor’s office.
“We apologize for any inconvenience the temporary relocation of the assessor’s office may cause township residents,” Hartigan said. “We appreciate the public’s patience at this time. Assessor Barbara Weyrick and her staff are responding to all inquiries at their temporary Countryside location and, as always, they are being enormously helpful to the public.”
