Beverly J. Brancato, 80, Cashier
Beverly J. Brancato (nee Weikum), 80, a former resident of Brookfield and LaGrange, died Nov. 14, 2009 at Rush Oak Park Hospital. She was a resident of Berwyn at the time of her death.
Ms. Brancato was born in Hinsdale on June 23, 1929 to Fred Jacob and Ruth Celeste Weikum. She married Raymond G. Brancato, who preceded his wife in death. She was employed as a cashier for an investment firm.
Ms. Brancato is survived by her sons, Raymond George (Jean) Brancato and Dennis S. (Louise) Brancato; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Brancato; her grandchildren, Lisa Truby, Todd Brancato and Kirk J. Brancato; three great grandchildren; her sister, Winifred Koukol; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Nov. 18 from 3 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 31st St. in Brookfield. A funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Mary E. Morrison, will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Nov. 19.
Interment will be at Parkholm Cemetery in LaGrange Park.
Memorial contributions are appreciated to a favorite charity of the donor’s choice.
Luigi Listi, 80, Mechanical engineer
Brookfield resident Luigi Listi, 80, died Nov. 10, 2009 at his home.
Mr. Listi was born in Italy on Jan. 27, 1929 to Leoluca and Francesca (nee Paola) Listi, one of seven boys in the family. He was married to Antonina Listi (nee Badami), who survives her husband, and worked as a mechanical engineer.
Mr. Listi is also survived by his sons, Leo (Dana) Listi of Brookfield and Giacomo (Lisa) Listi; four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 14 at St. Barbara Church in Brookfield, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

Eleanor K. Mares, 91, North Riverside homemaker
Eleanor K. Mares (nee Stovicek), 91, a resident of North Riverside, died Nov. 14, 2009.
She was born on March 5, 1918 and married George Mares, who preceded his wife in death. Ms. Mares is survived by her children, Patricia (William) Carbone and Susan (James) Leathers; her grandchildren, Jasen (Margaret) Leathers, Angela (Christopher) Reincke, Janell (Brian) Konior, Nicholas Carbone, Deandra Carbone and Damian Carbone; her great grandchildren, Andrew, Nicholas and Ella; and her brother, Richard (Laverne) Stovicek.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. at Mater Christi Church, 23rd Street and 10th Avenue in North Riverside, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.

Dolores A. Masek, 74, Owned flower shop
Dolores A. Masek (nee Bykowski), a former resident of Brookfield, died Nov. 10, 2009 at her home in Downers Grove. She was 74 years old.
She was born in Cicero on Jan. 12, 1935 to Chester and Mary (nee Kubicki) Bykowski one of three children in the family. She graduated from Morton High School in Cicero in 1953 and married Donald H. Masek, who survives his wife. The couple, who were married for 53 years, raised eight children.
Ms. Masek was co-owner of ArDon’s Flowers and Gifts, a business that served the Brookfield area for more than 29 years. Prior to the flower shop, Ms. Masek and her husband owned and operated United Food Company and United Meat Company in Cicero.
She served for many years on the Brookfield Zoning Board of Appeals and received recognition for her leadership in the business community by the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce. She also held office with the West Suburban Junior Women’s Club.
After moving from Brookfield, Ms. Masek stayed active locally through the village’s Fourth of July parade, designing and supervising the building of award-winning floats, including replicas of the Statue of Liberty, the Iwo Jima Memorial and the bald eagle.
In addition to her husband, Ms. Masek is survived by her children, Patricia Masek, Terri Mallon, Kelly Masek, Kim Bozick, Donald Masek Jr., Judi Harris, James Mazek and Jennifer Cannon; 17 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Bykowski, Virginia Pinkowski and Joyce Kuras.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Nov. 16 at St. Barbara Church in Brookfield, followed by interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Memorial contributions were appreciated to St. Thomas Hospice, 8230 S. Madison, Burr Ridge, Ill. 60527.

Helen Singleton, 88, Retired railroad clerk
Former Brookfield resident Helen E. Singleton (nee Moser), 88, died Nov. 14, 2009 at her home in Aurora.
Born in Cassopolis, Mich., on June 4, 1921 to Elmer and Ida (nee Howard) Moser, she married Robert Singleton and worked as a clerk for a railroad company. Mr. Singleton preceded his wife in death. She was a member of the Brookfield Women of the Moose Lodge #526.
She is survived by her children, LaVora E. Singleton and Robert (Nancy) Singleton Jr.; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and her brother, John Moser.
A funeral service was held Nov. 16 at Hitzeman Funeral Home in Brookfield, followed by interment at Bronswood Cemetery in Oakbrook.
