Martha M. Brunette, Homemaker
Martha M. Brunette (nee McCrery), 60, of LaGrange Park, died May 20, 2010 at her home.
She was born in Monmouth, Ill., on Aug. 27, 1949 to Bruce and Betty (nee Boggs) McCrery. She was married to William Kerry Brunette, who is LaGrange Park’s village clerk.
Ms. Brunette is survived by her husband; her mother; her daughter, Meghan (Bob) Rogers of LaGrange Park; and her sister, Lynn H. (Arley) McGill.
A funeral service was held May 25 at Hitzeman Funeral Home in Brookfield.

Alfred ‘Bud’ Huedepohl, 80, Former Brookfield ESDA director
Alfred “Bud” Huedepohl, 80, of Bull Head City, Ariz., and formerly of Brookfield, died April 29, 2010.
Mr. Huedepohl served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. During his years in Brookfield, Mr. Huedepohl was the director of the village’s Emergency Service Disaster Agency (ESDA) from 1973 to 1993 and the America Red Cross from 1958 to 1983.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Huedepohl (nee Martin); his children, Christine “Tina” Biela and Michael (Gail) Huedepohl; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Michelle, Lisa, Laura and Michael Jr.; many great grandchildren; his brother, Charles Huedepohl; and his former wife, Bernice Huedepohl (nee Wielondek).
Visitation will be Saturday, May 29 at 1 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. service, at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 31st St. in Brookfield. Interment is private.
Bernice L. Kieras, 98, Homemaker
Bernice L. Kieras, 98, a longtime resident of Oak Brook, died May 12, 2010 at her home surrounded by family and friends.
Ms. Kieras was married to Joseph Kieras, who preceded his wife in death in 1996. She enjoyed cleaning, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. She also loved telling people she skipped second grade and was promoted directly from first to third grade.
She is survived by her children, Joseph (Barbara) Kieras, MaryAnn (David) Hiles and Sharon (James) Weiss; her grandchildren, Joe Kieras Jr., Jill (Drew) Uhlir, Michael Weiss and Adam Weiss; and her great granddaughter, Morgan Uhlir.
A funeral service was held May 15, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice.

June C. Matheson, 84, Copywriter
Brookfield resident June C. Matheson, 84, died May 17, 2010 at the Lexington of LaGrange.
Born in Chicago on Oct. 23, 1925 to Malcolm and Teresa Matheson, she worked as a copywriter prior to retirement.
Ms. Matheson is survived by her brother, Malcolm (Mary) Matheson, and her sister, Pauline E. Matheson, of Brookfield.
A funeral Mass was celebrated May 21 at St. Louise de Marillac Church in LaGrange Park, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

Lorraine M. Skweres, 88, Worked for township assessor
Lorraine M. Skweres, 88, of Brookfield, died May 13, 2010 from complications from Alzheimer’s disease.
Married to Frank B. Skweres, who preceded his wife in death, she lived in the same Brookfield home for 55 years. The couple belonged to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Ms. Skweres helped work the concession stand at Ehlert Park while Frank managed teams and her kids played ball. She worked for many years in the Office of the Assessor for the Township of Lyons.
According to her son, Frank, “I think she most liked her vegetable garden and fruit trees. They had both peach and apples trees in the backyard, and mom would can peaches and make apple butter.”
Ms. Skweres is survived by her children, Frank (Paula) Skweres, Jim (Linda) Skweres, Craig Skweres and Lorrie (John) Hymel; her daughter-in-law Sharon Skweres; her grandchildren, Ric (Mary) Skweres, James (Andrea) Skweres, Daniel Skweres, Steve Skweres, Brian Skweres, Kevin Skweres, Stephanie Hymel, Jonathan Hymel, Adam Hymel and Ashley Hymel; and her great grandchildren, Nicholas Skweres, Carlos Skweres, Nina Skweres, Foster Skweres and Brynn Skweres.
Funeral services have been held. Memorial contributions were appreciated to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Brookfield, the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Association or Tabor Hills Health Care Facility in Naperville.
