Mary “Judy” Vaile (nee Lahey), 75, a former resident of Brookfield and Lyons, died Oct. 11, 2010, at Hinsdale Hospital.
Ms. Vaile married Thomas J. Vaile at St. Anne Church in Dixon on May 4, 1954. The couple moved to Brookfield in 1962 and remained there until 1985 when they moved to Lyons. Since 2007, she lived at Mayslake Village in Oak Brook.
For more than 45 years, Ms. Vaile worked as a bookkeeper for government agencies, including the village of Brookfield and the Des Plaines Valley Mosquito Abatement District. She also enjoyed bowling, crocheting, playing bingo and other games of chance.
Ms. Vaile was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 23, 2005. She is survived by her children, Lori (Charles) Brumfield, Patti (Terry) Faraone, James (Cindy) Vaile, Tim Vaile and Thomas (Judy) Vaile; her grandchildren, Sean Faraone, Tina Faraone, Stacy Vaile, Jennifer Vaile and Allison Vaile; and her siblings, David Lahey, Frances Dempsey and Jeanne Nelles.
A memorial service was held at the Mayslake Village chapel, followed by interment at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.
